With the failure of the last Battle Royale and the subsequent rise of Nanahara as a symbol of defiance, the government enacts a second Battle Royal. This time the class that is chosen will be dropped on the island where Nanahara and his supporters are living. They have three days to kill Nanahara and if they don't, they will be killed.This doesn't make much sense since the teenagers do not have any military experience, knowledge of weapons, and lack the ability to mobilize a planned attack . Also the tension from the first film is lacking since they are tasked with killing someone they don't know and thus have no emotional involvement. Thus there is no real soul searching, or guilt to work through.
