The daughter and her boyfriend, who looks like Alfalfa from the Little Rascals wearing oversized glasses, help the Sheriff by doing research. The boyfriend accompanies the Sheriff on a stake out which is good as the Sheriff is a little lax and gets drugged before wandering off into the woods.
There are lots of long scenes which are pointless. In one that goes on for about five minutes, the Sheriff sits in his car staking out the dorms and eating a sandwich.
In another scene, there is a shot of a family farm (see below). No one is in the shot but there is ongoing dialogue. You keep searching the screen, trying to figure out who is talking and where they are. After a few minues, a man walks out of the house, across the field and into the barn. Then about ten seconds later, we watch him walk back. Aaarrgghh!!
Thrill as we watch nothing for several minutes. |
Dean "... shut down the campus!"
Sheriff (paraphrasing) - No, we have to find the killer! I'll catch him, but we need the campus open as he won't come here without the students. I guarantee there will be no more murders.
... Later that night, another murder occurs.
It's inept and primitive and ridiculous, which I like, but it also can be tedious. So if you like inept low budget horror from the 80s with questionable acting, you may want to check it out.
