Here's another movie based on H.P. Lovecraft's Lurking Fear. This one is a Full Moon movie, so you've already got a good idea of what you're getting into here.
After getting out of jail, our square jawed hero of sorts heads to visit an undertaker who has a something to give him that is his father. It's a piece of a map that will lead him to a corpse stuffed with a fortune in cash. Disgusting! Wouldn't the cash have rotted after five years? I can't believe it would be clean enough to spend after being inside a body. Yuck!
Not only does the undertaker want a share of the money, but some gangsters show up to take their cut, which would be all of it.
The group heads out to the cemetery which is located in a town where the population is dwindling due to the hideous monsters who lives underground. Our hero, the undertaker and the gangsters meet up with Jeffrey Combs, and a low budget Linda- Hamilton-in-Terminator clone who has rigged the graveyard with dynamite in an effort to kill the creatures.
Then we're left with the characters holed up in the church after a creature comes out of the ground. The creatures also break through the church floor so nowhere is safe. But even that can't make the movie all that interesting or give our square jawed hero some acting chops. So we're left pinning all our hopes for entertainment on Jeffrey Combs who can only do so much with what he's been given.
