The Visitant (2014)

Samantha works as a fortune teller at an amusement park. She’s an actress, not a psychic, but hasn’t been booking many roles.  As she’s closing one night a desperate woman pays her double to stay late.  The woman is haunted by a spirit but feels relief once Sam tells the spirit to get lost.  Too bad Sam didn’t do any research for her psychic role because the spirit is going home with her.

Sam lives in a huge house where strange things start to happen.  She comes home from jogging to find all the lights and electrical equipment on. Instead of being alarmed or fearing someone is in the house, Sam brushes it off.  Her friend thinks there may be an evil entity in the house. But Sam wonders if it’s Stephen, her sweet dead husband.  It’s the one year anniversary of his death and who else would want to be in touch with her?

Her friend warns if there is a spirit in the house, it could be pretending to be Stephen. She tells Sam not to do anything until she gets there. But Sam has no time for anyone to tell her this pesky spirit isn’t her beloved.  She opens herself to accept the spirit, even though it’s acting like a dick and Stephen was supposed to be a good guy. Needless to say, things go horribly wrong.

This is kind of like if the Lifetime channel made a horror movie.  It’s a sad woman who misses her husband and mopes around so much her friend advises her to let go of her unhealthy fixation.  Also apparently she has a great deal on her massive home since she seems to be paying the bills with a amusement park psychic job.

Remembering Stephen and how they laughed about a robot
Amusement park must pay well for her to afford this
